The Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) offers a general management MBA degree and does not offer degrees in specialized areas such as finance or marketing, although it does offer certificate programs in public management and global management. The school also offers the Sloan Master's Program, a full-time ten-month MS in Management for accomplished mid-career executives and entrepreneurs, and a Ph.D. program
Stanford GSB does not offer majors; it offers certificates in public management and global management. The Public Management Program’s course offering are oriented to prepare students in the social sector and the Global Management Program’s offerings prepare students for work on a global level. Between 1/3 and 2/3 of students pursue these certificates.
Stanford’s model may not emphasize teamwork as much as those of some schools like Kellogg or Tuck, but it remains an important part of the curriculum. During the first quarter students are assigned to groups of four or five that work together daily.
